Good Questions About Palo Santo Soap
What does Palo Santo Soap smell like?
Woody, earthy, and calm. Cedarwood and amber open it, then palo santo, smoke, and earth carry the middle, on a base of lemon leaf, cashmere, and incense spice. It is a woody soap with a quiet, grounding feel, warm and resinous rather than sweet.
Is there real palo santo wood in this soap?
No. This bar is scented with a fragrance oil that captures the warm, woody character of palo santo. The full ingredient list is on this page. If you enjoy this scent, I also make shave soaps with this scent: Naked Blends Shave Soaps, Shaving Soap Puck in Ramekin and Shave Soap Refill Puck.
Why is this bar a plain creamy white?
Kaolin clay gives this bar its soft, creamy white color. I do not add any other colorants to it. The plain look suits the calm, grounding scent.
Is Palo Santo Soap vegan?
Yes. This vegan soap is made with olive, coconut, sunflower, and castor oils, plus fragrance and kaolin clay. There are no animal ingredients in it, and the full ingredient list is on this page.
How long will this bar last?
That depends on how many people are using it, whether it is for hands, the shower, or both, and how often it gets used. Letting the bar dry completely between uses, as described in the Care Tips, helps it last as long as possible.
How should I store it before I use it?
Keep spare bars in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight and humidity, where air can circulate. Use your oldest bars first.
Why do your soaps come in different shapes, sizes, and weights?
I cut and finish my soap batches by hand, and I like having different shape options in my shop, so I use a variety of styles. Some bars feature a crinkle cut, some have a textured high top, and others are molded into a square or a seasonal shape. Once a soap has a style, it keeps it: a crinkle cut soap is crinkle cut in every batch, and a square soap stays square. The exact size and weight for each soap are listed on its product page.
