Vegan Products

Not everything I make is vegan, and I would rather make the vegan things easy to find than make you read every ingredient list in my shop. Everything on this page is made without any animal products or animal-derived ingredients: no beeswax, no goat milk, no honey, no tallow, no lard. Soaps, lotions, beard and hair care, lip balm, and two gift sets, all gathered in one place.

Vegan Soap

This section gathers every bar I make without animal-derived ingredients: everyday scented bars, gentle unscented bars, and exfoliating bars among them. Each one is cold process soap, made in small batches with plant oils, and each lathers and lasts like any of my other handmade soap bars. If a bar is not in this section, it is not vegan, and its own listing will tell you why.

Vegan Shave Soap

Work up a rich lather with a shave brush and enjoy a smooth glide with every pass. Choose from Palo Santo, Mystic Tobacco Vanilla, or Smoked Cedar & Oud, or pick the unscented version. The nicest way to start is with my shave soap puck in its ramekin. When the puck runs low, order a refill puck and pop it right in: buy the ramekin once, refill it after.

From Adding Ingredients to Finished Bar

Shave soap has a whole life before it reaches your brush, and these three short videos show it, beginning to end, in quick clips. The first catches a batch right at the start, as it comes together. In the second, the finished bars are ready, and I build a lather with my shave brush and spread the foam over my hand and arm, so you can see exactly what will cushion your shave. The third shows the bars packaged and ready to go.

Vegan Lotion

My lotion is lightweight, made with plant oils and shea butter. These lotions have no animal-derived ingredients. You will find the lotions from my two vegan gift sets here, Blushing Blossom and Smoked Cedar and Oud, ready to buy on their own. Smooth it on after a shower, or whenever your skin feels dry.

Vegan Skin Oil

My Revitalizing Skin Oil is a lightweight blend of four plant oils, castor, baobab, black seed, and rosehip, made for everyday face and body care. It absorbs comfortably and leaves skin soft and smooth, with no heavy or greasy feel, and there is no added fragrance, just the oils themselves. A few drops go a long way. It also comes in my Skin and Hair Oil Set, paired with my All-Natural Hair Oil.

Vegan Beard & Hair Care

Hair and beard care is where vegan shoppers have to read labels most carefully, because so many balms are made with beeswax. Everything in this section is made without beeswax, and without any animal-derived ingredients, including my All-Natural Hair Oil, a blend of eight plant oils with no added fragrance.

Vegan Lip Balm

My vegan lip balm is the same simple, everyday lip care as my original, with one swap: candelilla wax, which comes from a plant, instead of beeswax. It is plain, with no flavors added, and it softens and conditions without feeling heavy. One small tube, no bee products, and nothing on the label you have to second-guess.

Vegan Gift Sets

Both of my ready-to-give gift sets happen to be vegan: the Smoked Cedar and Oud Gift Set and the Blushing Blossom Gift Set, each with soap and the matching lotion inside.

They come fully wrapped with a bow and a gift tag, so a vegan gift from my shop needs no repackaging and no apologies. You will find them with the rest of my sets on my gifts page.

Good Questions About My Vegan Products

What does vegan mean on this page?

It means no animal products and no animal-derived ingredients at all. Nothing on this page is made with beeswax, goat milk, honey, tallow, or lard. If a product is gathered here, you do not have to wonder about it.

Are all of your products vegan?

No. Many of them are, and some are not: my original lip balm is made with beeswax, and my goat milk soap is a longtime favorite. That is exactly why this page exists, so the vegan products are gathered in one place instead of scattered through the shop.

How can I tell if one of your other products is vegan?

Check the ingredients on the product’s own page, look for the vegan tag, or start here. Every product on this page is vegan, and I keep the list current as products come and go.

Is vegan soap made the same way as your other soap?

The same way, by the same hands: cold process, in small batches in my Reidsville studio. The vegan bars simply leave out the animal-derived ingredients and are made with plant oils instead.

Does vegan soap lather as well as other soap?

Yes. My vegan bars build the same rich, creamy lather as the rest of my handmade soap bars. Work the bar between wet hands, or use a washcloth or one of my sisal soap bags for the most bubbles.

What makes the lip balm vegan?

The wax. My original lip balm uses beeswax; the vegan formula swaps in candelilla wax, which comes from a plant. Both are plain, with no flavors added.

Are the gift sets on this page completely vegan?

Yes, everything in them: the Smoked Cedar and Oud and Blushing Blossom gift sets are vegan from the soap to the lotion. Both come fully wrapped with a bow and gift tag, so they are ready to give to your friends without a second thought.

Why isn’t everything you make vegan?

Some of my recipes are traditional ones my customers have loved for a long time, like my goat milk soap, oatmeal honey soap, and my beeswax lip balm, and I am not taking those away. What I can do is make the vegan choices easy to find, and that is this page.

Do you make the vegan products in the same studio?

Yes, everything I sell is handmade by me in the same studio, vegan and non-vegan alike.

My skin is sensitive. Where should I start?

I can’t promise any product is right for every skin, but if fragrance is your concern, start where there is none: my unscented lotion and my Revitalizing Skin Oil both have no added fragrance. And with anything new, try it on a small area first and see how your skin likes it.

Everything here started with customers asking, and vegans shop carefully, so I would rather earn that care than ask you to take my word for anything. Every product listing in my shop states its ingredients in full, and this page gathers the ones with nothing animal-derived in them at all.
